    Federal Government Links

      The NLRB administers the federal private sector collective bargaining statute, the National Labor Relations Act. Many NLRB decisions can be found online at the NLRB’s website.

      Federal Mediation and Conciliation Service

      Pursuant to Executive Order dated March 14, 2025, the services and staff of the FMCS were drastically reduced. The State of New Mexico’s Attorney General joined in litigation with 20 other state AGs in a lawsuit filed in the United States District Court for the District of Rhode Island. The lawsuit challenges the EO due, among other things, to its direct and immediate impact on non-federal sector collective bargaining in New Mexico”. The R.I. U.S. District Court enjoined the federal administration from implementing the planned reduction or elimination of FMCS staff and services, but PELRB Staff are informed that FMCS staff, and services for NM public employers and employees have not been fully restored and may be further impaired in the September 2025 budget request.

      The FLRA administers the federal public sector collective bargaining statute, the Federal Service Labor-Management Relations Act. Many FLRA decisions can be found on its website.
